You are about to join a Blockchain Supply Chain Association event. We are so happy to welcome you! For the purposes of your participation to this coding bootcamp, we need to collect and use some of your personal data. Your Privacy and the security of your Personal Data is important to us and we want to explain what Personal Data we collect from you, why we collect it, how we collect it, how we store and process your Personal Data as well as your associated rights and choices in relation to your Personal Data in this Privacy Notice. For clarity, we adopt the definition of “Personal Data” as what is being defined in European Union General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“EU GDPR”), section 4 (1).

Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in the EU GDPR.

 

Who we are ?

The company Blockchain Supply Chain Association (also known as BSCA Global), and its affiliates, is a franchisee of the Canadian company Canadian Blockchain Supply Chain Association Inc. Blockchain Supply Chain Association, with its principal place of business at 1223 boul. Perigny PO Box 296, Chambly, Quebec, Canada, collects and processes some of your personal information, as defined in this Privacy Policy, and is acting as data controller in relation with such processing.

 

How do we collect your Personal Data?

We collect your Personal Data (1) when you register to an event on the BSCA website or through various social media platforms , and (2) when you finalize your subscription to the Association.

 

What Personal Data do we collect from you?

When you register to an event, when you finalize your subscription to the Association, and when you create a user account (your “User Account”) on the online Connect Platform (as defined below), we may collect the following information:

• Your name and surname;

• Your e-mail address;

• Your telephone number;

• Your mail address.

 

What do we use your Personal Data for?

​

We need to process your personal data for the performance of the contract between you and us. For that specific purpose, we may use your Personal Data for:

• Providing you with an access to the online services or events offered by the Association

• Providing you with useful information about the Association;

• Inviting you to conferences, talks or other events in relation with the

  Association;

• Providing you with useful information about job offers or funding

  opportunities that may be of interest to you;

• And more generally, supporting you all along the Membership or

  event.

 

Sharing your Personal Data

For the purposes of the performance of the contract between you and us, we may share your Personal Data to:

• The employees of Blockchain Supply Chain Association and its affiliates that need to have an access to your Personal Data;

• Our accountant who is based in Canada;

• Our franchisor (Canadian Blockchain Supply Chain Association Inc.), which is providing, supporting and maintaining our online tools and events;

• The hosting company that hosts the aforementioned platforms and events. The servers of these companies are located in the USA.

 

For our legitimate interest to comply with our reporting obligations to our franchisor, we may share your Personal Data to:

● Canadian Blockchain Supply Chain Association Inc., a Canadian based company which is our franchisor.

For our legitimate interest to help you in (i) being informed, (ii) being a member, we may share your Personal Data to:

• Event partners and sponsors

• International Chapters and Affiliates.

• For our legitimate interest to obtain funding for financing our activity, we may share your Personal Data to funders.

 

Data Retention

Subject to the applicable legal archival obligations, we keep your Personal Data for the duration of the events you are registered to and two (2) months after.

 

International Data Transfers

 

As Blockchain Supply Chain Association is a franchisee of Canadian Blockchain Supply Chain Association Inc., we may transfer your Personal Data to Canada.

For the purposes of providing you an access to the Connect Platform, and as this Platform is hosted on servers based in the USA, we may transfer your Personal Data to the USA.

Keeping your Personal Data safe

Taking into account the state of art, the costs of implementation, the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing your Personal Data, we implement various measures including access and retention policies to guard against unauthorized access and unnecessary retention of Personal Data in our systems. We also ensure that those who have permanent or regular access to your Personal Data, or who are involved in the processing of Personal Data, are trained and informed of their rights and responsibilities in when processing such Personal Data. In the event that your data is lost or stolen, and if this data breach could harm you, we will inform you without undue delay.

Your password protects your user account and we strongly encourage you to use a unique and strong password, limit access to your computer and browser, and log out after using our Site and Services.

 

Your rights

 

We comply with the EU GDPR standard and you have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of the Personal Data we have about you. If you have any questions, please contact us at hello@bsca.global and we will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Right of access and rectification

​

You have the right to have confirmation as to whether or not personal information concerning you is being processed and, where it is the case, access to the personal information Blockchain Supply Chain Association is processing about You. You also have the right to request Blockchain Supply Chain Association to (i) rectify any of inaccurate personal information concerning You and (ii) have incomplete personal information completed. You may also directly modify or complete any such personal information at any time via your User Account.

 

Right to erasure

 

Subject to our storage legal obligations, You have the right to request Blockchain Supply Chain Association to remove any of your personal information from its systems where (i) the personal information is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was initially collected or processed, (ii) you have withdrawn your consent for certain processing of your personal information, (iii) you believe that the personal information have been unlawfully processed, (iv) the Personal Data have to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in EU or Member State law to which Blockchain Supply Chain Association is subject.

 

Right to restriction of processing

 

You have the right to obtain the restriction of processing where (i) you contest the accuracy of the personal information concerning you, (ii) you believe that their processing is unlawful and you request the restriction of their use instead of the erasure, and (iii) Blockchain Supply Chain Association no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of the processing but you need such personal data for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

 

Right to data portability

 

You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another data controller.

 

Right to object

​

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular position, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you where the processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us, unless Blockchain Supply Chain Association demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which overrides your interests, rights and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You also understand that the processing of your Personal Data by Blockchain Supply Chain Association is necessary for the purpose of providing you with services.

 

Automated individual decision-making

 

You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly affects you, unless this decision is necessary for entering into, or performance of a contract between the data subject and a data controller or is authorized by EU or Member State law to which Blockchain Supply Chain Association is subject, or if you have given your explicit consent.

 

Right to lodge a complaint

 

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
